Confessions of a Thirty- Something Teeny Bopper

Okay so I have a confession to make, I am a total goon for teeny bopper music. In my teens, I had a die hard straight up psycho “he shall be mine” crush on Justin Timberlake. I am going to call her out here and also confess that Christiana and I spent the majority of our hang out time recording *NSYNC TV appearances and studying the dance moves carefully. We methodically practiced, rewound, and practiced again until we had the moves. Down. Pat.

My love didn’t stop there. I enjoyed the sounds of Hanson with my college roommate and even saw them live here in Richmond. I have to say, they are some seriously talented and humble brothers!

I loved the girls too. Britney, Christina, Mariah, Mandy Moore, Destiny’s Child, you name it, I had their CD! We might have even tried to start our own girl group with Margo…๐Ÿ˜ณย NV holla!

My cousins and I spent so much time making music videos in our basements as well (talk about digging up old dirt) we went all googley-eyed and star struck every time we’d see this face.

And, let’s just be honest, I still do in my thirty’s when I see him now. A little pitter patter or heart flutter. (sorry, Honey. Although I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t even be mad. Look at that face! Y’all have the same haircut after all!)

And do we need to even mention Teen Beat? Yes…of course we freaking do. We had it bad!

OMG Andrew Keegan and Devon Sawa!

Anyway, my point in this confession is that tomorrow, my guilty pleasure will be satiated at the Taylor swift concert! For someone that I despised when she first was introduced to unnamed.jpgthe world, she sure knows how to write a soundtrack that is relatable to every situation in my life right now. Or maybe its just subliminal messaging?

So this week, I am taking a bit of a content break to go all teeny bopper for ya! Taking this “time-out” to go back to my inner child seems extremely necessary for this season of my life where I am so bogged down with being a stay at home mom. I have to remember that at my core, I am a giddy carefree teenager, with a huge heart and a lust for wonderment and big dreams:)

Wish my voice and I luck in out-singing all the chicks younger than me!

Move it Tweens…

I’ll try not to stage dive. FOR YOU ALL, I will try……
